Archie has to wear an ugly shirt because Veronica picked it out for him and all his friends tease him about it.; Archie decides that Veronica is too rich for him. Veronica pretends that her father has lost his wealth and even the servants are in rags. The deed backfires when Mr. Lodge brings home an ambassador who lectures the servants on the evils of capitalism.; Veronica is impressed when Reggie gives her an oversized card with a poem. Archie decides he's going to paint a mural on the Lodge's living room wall (which he thinks will be painted in a day or two, anyway.); Archie and Reggie try to be stoic while inflicting pain on each other. The girls think that's a crazy idea, but the boys do suffer in silence when Moose roughs them up.; Veronica is supposed to go on a trip to the country, but Betty is so happy to see her leave that Veronica decides not to go.; Reggie gets a date with Veronica and Archie decides to challenge him to a boxing match with the winner to get the date. Archie is a klutz at boxing, but Jughead comes up with a way to get Reggie to call off the match.; Archie and Reggie decide to become beatniks. The girls aren't impressed.; Archie wants to tell Moose to stay away from Veronica, but is afraid of getting clobbered. Jughead suggests that he write Midge a letter telling her that Moose is seeing Veronica, but that scheme doesn't work.; Veronica breaks her date with Archie so she can go with Reggie to the exclusive Blue Ribbon Ball. Reggie loses the tickets and Jughead finds them. Reggie (not realizing he's lost the tickets) and Betty buy the tickets from Jughead and tear them up to prevent Archie from attending the ball.; Archie is playing bare-handed catch with Reggie and isn't paying much attention to either Veronica or Betty.; Archie and Reggie decide to play hooky by going fishing at the Old Pond. Unfortunately, Mr. Weatherbee catches them there and sends them back to school.; Jinx's mother bakes a cake, but uses frosting to write "Hands Off!" on it.; Shrimpy wants to build something bigger than the Empire State Building.; Shrimpy says a passing girl is the most careful person in the world, because she still has the first balloon she got.
