While the police concern themselves with the ransom drop, The Junior Detective League give Conan the clue to track down where the extortionist is hiding.; Rachel and Serena visit some aspiring magicians Serena met in a chat room. Upon hearing of the death of one of the group at his home, Conan begins to suspect the chat room group might be in danger.; While Conan gathers clues, a possible motive turns up connecting the murders to the death of a venerated stage magician. Later Serena and one of the guests are attacked with a crossbow.; An inverted wine bottle and some staples lead Conan to the truth.; Using Serena as his surrogate, Conan exposes the killer.; On their way to a Yoko Okino concert, Richard, Rachel and Conan become involved with a woman whose younger sister has apparently committed suicide in a sealed bathroom. But Conan immediately suspects murder.; Conan keeps pointing out clues to Richard that the suicide was murder, but Richard is too slow to make sense of them.; Using Richard as his surrogate, Conan implicates the killer.; Dr. Agasa and the kids stop at an old castle in the remote woods. There, Conan finds a secret passage and a room containing a long dead body and a not-so-dead lurker.; Battling a fever, Conan returns to the lodge before it's cut off from the outside world and warns the guests of a serial murderer in their midst. But his warning comes too late, as they find one guest dead in the middle of a field covered with snow, but with no footprints leading to or from the body.
