The Doctor and Frobisher travel to A-Lux for a vacation only to find it abandoned and covered in snow. In short order, they are attacked by a Dreilyn (a heat vampire) and then confronted by Ice Warriors.; The Doctor enables Frobisher and Olla the Dreilyn to escape. They meet up with the surviving population of A-Lux who finish off the Ice Warrior chasing them. The Ice Warrior leader Arryx reveals to the Doctor that he plans to use A-Lux as a new base to challenge the peace-loving members of his race who joined with the Federation. He leaves the Doctor alone to freeze when the Doctor refuses to explain his presence on this world. When Arryx and his medical aide Ross return, the Doctor is dead!; Frobisher, Olla, and the survivors of A-Lux defeat an Ice Warrior to enable Frobisher to gain access to the central power generator. The Doctor's faked death has jeopardized Ross's relationship with Arryx, a fact which the Doctor plans to use to his advantage.
