Izuku Midoriya is a high school student who dreams of attending the prestigious superhero academy, even though he was one of the few people on Earth born without mutant super-abilities. Only through a chance meeting with his superhero idol allows his dream to potentially come true.; Izuku endures rigorous physical and mental training supervised by All Might in preparation for the academy entrance exam.; The first entrance exam involves the potential students using their powers to subdue rampaging robots. But Izuku is unable to control the power given to him by All Might and quickly falls behind the others.; Izuku returns home to await the results of the test. Thinking he has failed, Izuku discovers that, due to the intercession of All Might and Ochako Uraraka, he might be wrong.; Izuku is confronted on the first day of class by threats from Bakugo, who has despised him since grade school, and with a test of each student's ability to control their powers, the loser being dismissed from school.; During the competition, Izuku must contend with both his inability to regulate his power and with his teacher's stated desire to expel him.; Izuku's response to the test impresses Aizawa. The passing students are allowed to design costumes and code names.
