A old man's dying request to find his hometown of Harmony and "right a wrong" he did proves difficult when Rip and Desmond initially can't find any such town. Eventually they discover Harmony actually exists, but has been cut off from the outside world for the past 60 years and the inhabitants still live a life rooted in the gay nineties.; When the wealthy Amour sisters make Rip the latest target of their sibling rivalry, Rip looks forward to a trip to explore ancient Mayan ruins. However, the girls discover Rip's destination and find ways to accompany the expedition. Meanwhile, a thief takes a job on the expedition, seeing it as a way to smuggle stolen money out of the country.; At a high society party, Jack Hallert claims Rip's detective skills are vastly overrated. When another party-goer defends Rip's ability, the two agree to a wager. This wager draws Rip into investigating the mysterious disappearance of Elise Lamont. The beautiful, famous actress had driven off alone from a resort seven years ago and never returned. She was been presumed dead after her wrecked car had been discovered in the desert.; Linda and her Uncle Jasper convince Rip to sign on with Captain Doom to discover what happened to the money her father was trying to transport when his ship went down and only Captain Doom survived. But Uncle Jasper intends to double-cross everyone and keep the money for himself.; Fortune is unhappy with her arranged engagement to another wealthy family and decides to run away. Rip, attending the engagement party, sees her flee through a window. She flies south under the alias of Frances Fremont. Rip is hired to find her and tracks her to the Club Cordial where she is hired as a singer and Rip is also hired, posing as a piano player. Rip soon discovers that their lounge act is just a front for an illegal gambling joint.; Desmond's new hobby with a telescope lands him in trouble one night as he tries to test its focus on a light across the street. That starts a series of events which give the police evidence that he is guilty of a murder committed during a robbery attempt. Rip and Honey set to work to clear their friend of the crime.; A dying burglar's final words about solving the "greatest mystery ever" intrigues Rip and he decides to take the burglar's place to discover what it is about. Soon Rip is flown to an unknown location in the southern hemisphere where a secluded estate called Treasure Haven holds many stolen art treasures. Rip, posing as the burglar, is expected to steal the Mona Lisa for the owner and add it to the Treasure Haven collection. But news of the real burglar's death quickly breaks Rip's cover.; The Mangler escapes from prison and begins a crime spree out west with the help of his female accomplice. Rip uses the Mangler's hatred of him to lure him into a trap at the abandoned ghost town of Bullwhip.
