Two strangers want to buy Bert Richford's claim, and he brings them home to his cabin. Preston is on the trail of the two for bankrobbery and when he approaches the cabin , they take young Jimmy as hostage and hide in the mine tunnel.; Two men rob the safe of Wallace's safe, but when making the sled ready for the getaway, their Malemuke dog tears a piece of one of the men's jacket. Preston finds it, and his dog now has a clue to catch them.; The Express sled is found abandoned. Both the driver and its gold shipment is missing. Suspicion falls on Jim Manley, the substitute young driver from the Express Office. It turns out to be a holdup planned by the Express Agent himself.
