Loki finds Odin's long-missing father Bor and transports him to Earth, where the god's disorientation causes him to lash out and cause havoc. Thor confronts him, not knowing who he is, and accidentally kills him, which forces Balder to exile Thor from Asgard, thanks to Loki's manipulations.; In this flashback story, Thor and Sif decide to marry and live their lives in peace, but Thor is called back to Earth to save a patient as Dr. Don Blake. Sif and Thor admit that their obligations make their plan impossible.; Thor comes back from the dead but he decides that it's more trouble than it's worth since all his friends are acting weird about it.; Odin orders Balder executed for leaving a battle to rescue a fallen bird, but Balder is so beloved that the animals and plants keep any harm from coming to him, and Odin makes him invincible.; Loki forces the Norn Queen to tell him of Balder's weakness to mistletoe and tries to kill him with a mistletoe dart, but the Norn Queen herself stops him.; The Asgardians battle the Giants of Jotunheim, and Odin adopts the infant son of their fallen king.; Thor defends Loki after Loki is caught engaging in mystical mischief.; Loki aids a giant in escaping from the Asgardians.
