A criminal from Kandor switches places with Jimmy Olsen and forces Superman to reveal the location of his Fortress of Solitude, so he can destroy the bottled city. But scientists in Kandor reverse the switch just in time.; Jimmy agrees to be a test subject for a week for men from Jupiter. He is granted the ability to read minds, but is also turned into a green, scaly Jovian. He uses his abilities to compete for the Newsman of the Year, though he covers his appearance. Between scoops, Jimmy reads Clark Kent's mind and "hears" him think that he is Superman. Jimmy’s rival Vince Regan plans to expose Jimmy at the ceremony, but luckily a Jovian week is equal to 5 Earth days, and Jimmy has reverted to his old self by then. The Jovians declare the experiment a success and help Superman preserve his secret identity.; When "Midnite Scare Theater" host, "Phanto" is injured, Jimmy stands in as "Neslo", however he is so successful that he literally scares a different viewer to death every evening.; Jimmy visits the dentist and, under anesthetic, dreams that he has married Lucy and become a father.; When Jimmy accidentally exposes himself to a green substance from space, his entire body becomes like rubber. Hiding out as Elastic Lad in a freak show, Jimmy falls in with criminals who use his abilities to carry out their plots, but Jimmy turns the tables on them before his elastic abilities fade.; When Prof. Potter gives Jimmy the wrong pill for a toothache, Jimmy ends up several stories tall, with the mind of a child. Trying to relieve Jimmy's toothache pain, Superman stumbles on the very antidote necessary to reverse Jimmy's transformation.; Superman adopts Jimmy for a 30 day trial period but then begins to treat Jimmy in a cruel manner.; Jimmy accidentally swallows Professor Potter's Pinocchio serum causing his nose to grow whenever he tells a lie. Lois spots a chance to put Clark on the spot by using the serum on him too.; An accident involving an experiment of Prof. Potter's gives Jimmy fire-breath. When he accidentally burns $1,000 meant for charity, Jimmy tries to use his abilities to raise replacement funds. In doing so, however, he draws the attention of "Hot Shot" Holton, who forces Jimmy to use his fire-breath to commit robberies. But Jimmy uses his fire-breath to signal Superman, and eventually douses his fire with mere water.
