Conan and the Moores encounter a house that seems to be haunted.; Conan deduces the ghost story was fabricated to cover a four year old murder.; Mitch has gone missing. Conan and the Junior Detective League trace him to a wooded area outside of Tokyo and run into a police perimeter trying to capture a wanted killer.; Conan discovers where Mitch and the killer are, and why Mitch went off on his own. Later Anita informs him that the escaped killer was once a member of the Black Syndicate.; Richard and Harley are contracted to participate in a reality TV show to see whether a Tokyo detective or an Osaka detective can solve a mystery first. But the mystery becomes real when one of the television crew is found murdered on the beach.; Someone sends an actress friend of Sharon's a golden apple, parroting the Greek myth "The Judgement of Paris". Later one of the stage company dies during a play based on that myth.; While Rachel looks on, Jimmy investigates the stage and puts together how the murder was committed.; With some dramatic assistance from his mother, Jimmy implicates the murderer. Later, while retrieving a handkerchief loaned to her by Sharon Vineyard, Rachel runs into Shuichi Akai and mistakes him for a slasher haunting the New York theater district.; Rachel's flashback continues to when she and Jimmy encountered the New York serial slasher as well as FBI aqent Shuichi Akai.; Using Richard as his surrogate, Conan implicates the murderer.; Conan deduces where Mitch is. But the escaped killer has found him first.
