Conan's investigation of the game programmer leads him from the man's stored on disk diary to his winter home in the north, and reveals the man's deep involvement with The Black Syndicate.; Conan defuses the bomb, then deduces the location of the other bombs from the bomber's note. But can they apprehend the bomber before Det. Sato executes him for killing her first partner?; An old friend from high school, now a famous actress, is implicated in an on-set murder and Richard must prove her innocent.; Richard solves the murder on his own, with a couple of hints from Conan.; Richard is hired to locate a missing game software engineer. When Richard finds him, the man is dead and Conan suspects the Black Syndicate.; Using a dying message left on a "Go" board and Richard as his surrogate, Conan solves the murder.; Conan solves the murder, but is out of tranquilizer darts, so he can't use Richard as his surrogate.; While Richard and Inspector Meguire try to figure out who killed the programmer, Conan tries to obtain a floppy disk diary the man had which he thinks will lead him to The Black Syndicate.; Conan, masquerading as the programmer, sets up a meeting with Vodka of the Black Syndicate to turn over the program they want. But on the way to the meeting, Dr. Agasa's car breaks down and they are picked up by two suspicious strangers.; Conan deduces that the two who picked them up are escaping jewel thieves wanted by the police.
