Conan must find Azusa, who has wandered off in hopes of concealing her brother from the police until Richard can prove his innocence.; Rachel and Conan tag along as Eva tries to help a client with a missing husband.; When her client's husband turns up dead, the police suspect an intruder. Eva suspects her client.; Eva solves the murder, all without Conan's help, and gives her client a choice: give up or be implicated.; The Moores, Harley and his girlfriend, accompanied by Conan, travel to a rural village in answer to a message sent to Jimmy Kudo, claiming a case he worked previously was bungled and that Jimmy implicated the wrong person as the killer.; After being dosed with an experimental compound mistaken for cold remedy, Conan reverts to Jimmy. Later Harley discovers Jimmy by the river of the village, a naked amnesiac. Harley must deal both with this mystery and whether Jimmy actually implicated the wrong person previously, a murder now blamed on a forest demon that haunts the village.; A local reporter threatening to expose Jimmy is later attacked with a knife and Jimmy is the prime suspect.; Harley works double time trying to clear Jimmy of the knife attack while still working the old case. Acting on an old legend, Rachel ventures into the haunted woods to try to get the shirigami to restore Jimmy's memory.; Through vastly different means, both Harley and Rachel arrive at the conclusion that Jimmy is an imposter and that the shirigami is a fake.; Harley must solve the old case, solve the new case and expose the shirigami all before the chemical antidote wears off and Jimmy reverts to Conan before everyone's eyes.; While driving home, the group encounters a car wreck where the driver was strangled in an otherwise empty car.
