U.N. forces fire rubber bullets into crowds of infected people in Kariba and bomb a bridge to stop the outbreak. Vargas basks in the joy of the crisis he created and kills a spy. Iceberg visits Alpine, who had his legs amputated. He receives new legs. Duke asks Doc to allow him to leave the infirmity to hunt for a cure in a containment suit with Snake Eyes and Lighthorse. Later Doc regrets this decision when he finds out the symptoms include violent dementia.
