Jean Barrow is madly in love with Harry Thomas but Mom and Dad are totally against it. Dad gets a job in Boston and she has to leave Harry, who she could not find to say goodbye. She tells her good friend Susan Carlisle to tell Harry. In Boston she gets a job and meets Chris Barrow (an obvious naming mistake) and eventually marries him. Still in love with Harry she decides to leave Chris and runs back to Harry. Turns out Harry has married Susan and turned into a drunk and wife beater. She runs back to Chris and forgives her Mom and Dad.; Bud Gordon thinks he has the most beautiful fiancé in the state so he enters her picture in a beauty contest without Janie Winters knowing about it. Of course she wins and is visited by Chip Waller who represents the beauty contest. He tells her she will now have to tour the state for a year. She doesn't want to but Bud insists. During the year she is wined and dined by many famous and wealthy men as part of the publicity. Bud gets jealous and tells Janie its over. Janie plots with playboy Larry Pendleton to get Bud back. Jealous Bud comes back and Janie tells him she just wants him.; Joan tries to get out on a date with Roger before her mother sees her but no such luck. She calls Roger into the house and starts asking him question after question. It is the last date they go on. This was not the first time it had happened. Joan decides she will start dating but not bring the date home so her mother can't butt in. She meets Raymond at the Church Bazaar and immediately falls in love. Date after date she won't bring him home until one day she is late and Raymond has gone to her house. She then finds out Raymond had met her mother at the Bazaar and Mom is fine with him.; Madge tells Carol to make her honeymoon special because after that her marriage will be hum-drum. Carol tells Madge her marriage will be different. After the ceremony Bob and Carol head out on their honeymoon in a convertible. It begins to pour down rain and the top is stuck. Once it is fixed they have a flat tire. After fixing that they are stuck in the mud and Bob seems to be a different person and Carol is afraid she has made a mistake. They find an old farmhouse but the only place for them is the barn. Bob was angry because it wasn't a perfect honeymoon. They kiss and all's well.
