Betsy and Ed plan to marry following graduation, but Betsy is invited to join the Olympic figure skating team. Ed threatens to end their relationship if she joins. Betsy refuses to submit to his control and ends the relationship herself. At the games, Betsy falls in love with Czech Jan Cerny and accepts his marriage proposal. Ed warns Betsy that Jan is a communist who will to use her to validate the communist life. Betsy scoffs at Ed's allegations, but is horrified when she discovers Jan making exactly such plans. Ed flattens Jan with a right to the jaw. Betsy and Ed marry aboard ship as they return to America.; Linda believes men are only interested in her money. She runs away to a town where she is unknown and accepts a clerical job in a construction company. She falls in love with Bob, a construction worker and an aspiring playwright who needs a backer for his new play. Linda secretly finances the production, but a journalist exposes her true identity. Bob doesn't want to be a rich girl's "kept man" and leaves her. She searches for him, but when she finds him, he is in danger of being hit by a wrecking ball. She guns her car, puts herself between the ball and Bob, and takes the blow. He realizes then that she is not just a rich girl looking for a man to use, but a woman who truly loves him.; Myra is an exhausted New York chorine who takes a break from work at her aunt's home in a small town. She has a single date with handsome local, Jack. He ends the evening with a passionate kiss that is observed by his sometime girlfriend, Sue. He's fallen in love at first sight and asks the salesowman to put the negligee in storage for three months while he gets to know the woman who is going to be his bride.; When Rita snags her hose on a cafe chair, two possible courses of action are proposed: 1) treat the incident as a shattering tragedy, harp on it in a thousand ways, and make her date miserable, or 2) treat the incident as a minor mishap, forget about it, and enjoy her date's company.
