Rupert and Edward are on a walking holiday. They meet up with Rollo and go to the seaside where they help the coastguard to catch a group of spies who have been using a secret tunnel from the shore to the clifftop.; The Professor has invented a ventriloquist radio which Rupert is helping him to test. A poacher steals the radio and captures Rupert. He escapes, and P.C. Growler arrests the man after tricking him with the device.; Rupert's friends are gated for misbehaving. He encounters a naughty lost puppy and cannot understand why whatever mischief he gets up to, when he is returned to his owner she does not punish him.; Rupert and Edward are still on holiday with Rollo at the seaside. Rupert finds a gold earring lost by a foreign sailor and is rewarded with a gold coin for handing it over. Sailor Sam recognises it as pirate hoard and tells Rupert they are searching for a treasure map in his possession. Rupert hides the map, is captured by the pirates, but escapes and recovers it. Sam gives him a ship in a bottle.; Rupert finds a tiny flute which causes problems when played. It belongs to the Imps of Spring who are searching for it, as it is their summoning call. Podgy has fallen into an old mine with the flute, but the Imps spin a spider's web rope and rescue him. They can now get on with their work of making the crops grow.; Rupert sees a foreign man carrying a bundle of plants. he follows him, and finds a tent made from the Wise Old Goat's yellow cloak. He tracks the man to a cave, then visits Mr Goat and finds that he made the tent to protect some rare plants after spraining his ankle. They go back to the thief's cave and bundle him up in the cloak and Billy goes for help. They return the plants to Mr Goat.
