Rupert and his chums make an elegant snowman with the help of Mr. Anteater. Elfin Jack Frost appears and brings Rupert along as they and all the snowmen of Nutwood fly away to King Frost's ice palace. King Frost judges Rupert's snowman the finest one, then Rupert magically flies home.; The pirate Roderigo has stolen Sailor Sam's treasure map. Rupert, Pong-Ping and Sailor Sam sail with Captain Barnacle and Cornish Jake to the treasure island. The band of pirates are there and take Sailor Sam and the Captain captive, but Pong-Ping finds special Sleepy Pears growing. Rupert gives the pears to the pirates who fall asleep. The companions use the map to determine the location of the treasure, then return home on the sleeping pirates' ship.; Bill is minding Baby Badger and to keep him happy Rupert buys a balloon from the pedlar. When the balloon starts deflating he goes to the Old Professor who gives him some special pellets which reinflate the balloon far lighter than air. The chums tie the balloon around the baby's waist and go off to play. When Mrs. Badger arrives they realize that the powerful balloon has carried the baby away. Everyone chases across the countryside, on foot and with the Professor in his motorboat, finally catching the baby just as he is about to descend into the lake.; Mr. and Mrs. Bear have left for a special event in Bunchester but they have left without their tickets. Rupert is unable to find a way to get there until his friend Tigerlily and her father the Conjurer lend him a magic sock to wear. He learns that if he hops on the foot with the sock on he can traverse the countryside in enormous bounds. After he gives Mr. and Mrs. Bear the tickets, Tigerlily arrives with a second sock for him and they return to Nutwood together.; Rupert meets a Boy Scout who mentions doing a good turn. Podgy tells Rupert he is supposed to meet his cousin Rosalie and entertain her for the day, but doesn't feel well. Rupert says he will see to Rosalie for him. She proves to be a difficult guest, darting off to whatever amusement she sees and wanting lots to eat including tea and cakes, wild berries and ice cream. At the end of the day Podgy admits he was faking illness to avoid spending the day with Rosalie.; Exploring in the forest, Rupert encounters Cedric, a boy dressed in fine clothing, who tells Rupert that he and his father, the Knight of the Forest, were imprisoned in their castle by their Steward. Cedric has escaped and needs to summon their men-at-arms. The Knight is able to pass them a note through the dungeon window, Rupert and Cedric use it to make their way to the great bell of the castle, and the imprisoned Knight is freed.; Rupert wants an idea of what to give Edward for his birthday. A squirrel and a snake send him to the wise owl who suggests giving him a nice day. An enormous bird carries Rupert to the Clerk of the Weather's place in the clouds. The Clerk orders a sunny day and Rupert slides back to earth on a rainbow.; Shortly before Christmas, Rupert and Willie see Santa Claus flying overhead, and something falls out of his sleigh. Three Girl Guides appear carrying the fallen item, a hamper. When they open it a number of folded paper hobby-horses emerge and flutter away. Later, a Golliwog arrives on one of Santa's reindeer. The hobby-horses are Santa's messengers. The Golliwog sounds his rattle and recovers the hobby-horses except for one who stays with Rupert to deliver his Christmas cards.; All in all, Sylvia's frisky puppy leads everyone a merry chase. As Rupert tries to catch him he leads Rupert up a drainpipe where Rupert gets stuck. He runs about Deepwood Hall with a stolen slipper, but the squire gives him a bone rather than a scolding. As Bill tries to hold the puppy so Rupert can clean the mud off him, he jumps and pulls Bill into the river. Rupert remarks that however bad a puppy is, no one really minds.
