Alison's stepsister gets her an office job working on a showbiz gossip magazine. For Liz, her career is the most important thing in the world, and she often has to break dates with her fiancé. When that occurs, it is usually Alison that has to tell Ben and keep him company. Eventually, Alison and Ben start to have feelings for each other, but Alison does not want to do anything that would hurt Liz.
