Locals celebrate Wild River, a ghost town, as a fundraiser to restore it. But they're still short of funds. A man offers $2500 for a "sunburst", a legendary flower from Sky Peaks where eagles roost. Rex and Danny and a brave girl take the challenge. Rex fights off a horse stampede, a mountain goat, and an eagle, and finds a "pretty flower" for the girl's hair. "He's saved the ghost town!"; Deep in Mexico, Danny, Rex and Professor Barrett (from "Rex Goes to College") visit an Aztec pyramid. And are captured by ancient Aztecs! The prof sends Danny and Rex running for help while he's captured. Police won't let Danny return, so he sends Rex. Rex dodges lava by soaking in a river, then tows the professor to safety. In town, Rex recognizes the scent of evil and pounces on some civilians - crooks who masqueraded as Aztecs to steal valuable artifacts!; Bobo's latest craze is flying airplanes. He even has a small parachute and aviator's helmet. He goes flying with his elderly friend, but the man dies - in mid-air! Bobo scrabbles at the plane wreckage and flees a killer, even leaping off a tower with his parachute, until the Sheriff finds a trick gun rigged in the plane to go off with a hair trigger. A neighboring farmer rigged the death to get the airport land for his farm. And Bobo wonders if he can get a pilot's license!
