Wallace Ames goes missing in the Javanese jungle hunting the "Pearly Tear Idol". His daughter Nina wants to join Major Dennis and Rex on the search, but "it's no job for a girl". She stows away and is pitched out in a storm. Rex snags her on his parachute jump. He defends her from a crocodile and tiger. They find Dad and the idol as thugs close in, but Rex bowls them over with his Marines K-9 training. Major Dennis arrives and all are safe as Rex snaps a picture!; Again visiting John Rayburn, scientist, he recalls they shrank to mouse-size (last issue). Increase the formula and shrink to atomic size? They do, and plunk on an subatomic planet with two suns! Dogs are the superior race, and little green humans are pets. Rayburn is thrown in quarantine. Rex plays with a "pet human". A siren wails. Pop-eyed parrots attack the dog city! Rex dives atop the leader, Big Red, and sends him flapping. Rayburn is released just as the two return to normal size. "Someday we'll go back to the atom world, Rex!"; Bobo's latest craze is firefighting, but he fails basic tests and is turned down. He buys a miniature fire engine and beats the real firefighters every time. The Sheriff could use help finding three missing convicts, but Bobo keeps racing off. He spots a fire in the woods - a campfire where the convicts hide out! He sprays them with foam and tonks them with a ladder as the Sheriff arrives. Now even the Sheriff helps polish the fire truck. "Who am I to question his methods? The point is he catches crooks!"
