When Toby Weems stages a phony rescue of his office staff from a so-called bomb, he becomes a hero, which has some advantages with scaring underworld hoods. But his ego begins bothering him, so he seeks out Starman to help make him a real hero!; Sandman and Sandy track down the whereabouts of an hourglass, made in the days of the Greek Emperor, Michael Commenus [sic], onto which is engraved the lost formula for making water burn.; Hourman must battle the murderous plan of a criminal combine that uses the destructive tone of a specially constructed large bell.....sounds which cause death, destruction and madness for miles while the perpetrators are protected from the pulsations by vibro-mitters.
