After a particularly stressful year, Mr. Weatherbee and Archie try to avoid each other for 24 hours to officially start summer vacation.; As Archie is heading to the beach, he gets a letter accepting him as an intern to the Riverdale Bugle, the local newspaper, but he has to start that same day. He begrudgingly accepts and gets sent on a bad assignment at the beach. But, as luck would have it, he ends up as a judge for a beauty pagent at that same beach.; Pop Tate buys a hybrid vehicle that runs on gasoline or recycled cooking oil. The bad thing is that the exhaust smells like french fries.; Reggie and Chuck ask Archie if he wants to go play basketball at the park. He declines, as he has to go babysit. Archie takes Sidney to the same park and within a few minutes has a number of girls "ewwing" and "ahhing" over both Sidney and Archie.
