Archie remembers the anniversary of his first date with Veronica and buys her a gift to commemorate the occasion-- a lamp shaped like a turtle.; Mr. Lodge invites a well-repected artist to show his latest paintings. But the artist has spoiled each of the paintings by throwing paint over the pictures in an artistic inspiration. Mr. Lodge sees the marred paintings and assumes Archie is to blame.; Dilton tells Archie about kleptomania at the same time that Betty reads an article about leaving anonymous gifts for a guy as a romantic gesture. So Betty buys small gifts from Archie and manages to sneak them into his pocket. Archie finds the gifts and thinks he's become a kleptomaniac.; Veronica cancels a date with Archie when her father asks her to entertain a client's son. When Archie goes to Veronica's to dispute the matter, everyone finds out that Chris is actually a lovely girl. So Archie ends up going out with her -- all paid for by Mr. Lodge -- and Veronica stays home.
