Mr. Weatherbee installs cameras around the school to watch all of the students at all times and interact with them via intercom. The students become uncomfortable, and Ms. Beazly quits her job when Mr. Weatherbee spies on her. Later, Archie tells the gang about George Orwell's novel "1984", and they realize how similar it is to their situation.; Archie invites Dilton over to pick up his copy of "1984". Upon arrival, Mr. Andrews tells them the home needs repairs, but the bank won't let him take out a loan. They go to the bank, where they are denied by the bank president because of information in the computer and "computers never make mistakes". Meanwhile, Dilton tinkers with the ATM and causes it to spit out money. The bank president realizes computers can be wrong and gives Mr. Andrews the loan.; Mr. Lodge tells Veronica about how the government has controlled his factory. Apparently, the Defense Department told him to get ahead of schedule on widget production and to paint the factory pink to cheer up the workers. Then, the Labor Department told him to remove the paint because at above 120 degrees, the paint gives off an odor harmful to lab monkeys. Then, he is told not to wash it off because the chemical could enter the city water supply. Instead, it has to be scraped off by hand and stored in metal drums.; Reggie's dad is thrown in jail by the Pentagon for publishing a article about Mr. Lodge's widget production. Reggie goes to the Riverdale Courthouse and sees Judge Bookum and Miss Jones. Upon request, Judge Bookum looks to see if anything is in Miss Jones's eye. Reggie snaps a picture and threatens to print it if Judge Bookum doesn't release Mr. Mantle. Mr. Mantle is then released.; While passing The Bee's control room, the camera system shorts out and is destroyed. Mr. Weatherbee decides to remove the system altogether-and to get Ms. Beazly back.
