Archie and Jughead are afraid that Betty intends to shoot them, because she's carrying her father's shotgun home from the repair shop. Betty, meanwhile, schemes to make it rain so Archie doesn't have to paint his father's house and can go on a date with her. And Fred merely wants to take a bath in peace.; Betty's Uncle Oscar gives her his clown car, which he can no longer afford to keep. Veronica offers to drive her home, but the car proves to be unmanageable on the open road.; Betty has been leaving pastries for Archie in a fire bucket in school. Mr. Weatherbee has found out about this and is taking the pastries. Miss Grundy discovers the empty bucket and has it filled with water.; Veronica breaks a date with Archie to spend the night at home with Betty. Later that night, Veronica confesses her loneliness due to inattentive parents and the barrier her wealth and privilege creates between her and the other Riverdale students. She and Betty become closer friends because of it.; Tired of losing out to Veronica for Archie's affections, Betty buys an enchanted bracelet in hopes of snaring Archie through sorcery.
