Veronica spends $150 for a tie-clip for Archie to celebrate the anniversary of the day they met. Betty changes the price to $1.50 to see if Archie is a gold-digger. Archie is unhappy with the gift, but not because of the cost. He's upset for another reason, which in retrospect seems obvious.; Days after a major fight, Veronica is upset that Archie hasn't called to apologize. She calls him to complain, but ends up accepting his apology instead. Unfortunately before the call Veronica had told Smithers to throw Archie out if he showed up, which he gleefully does. Veronica is horrified when she learns what he's done, ordering Smithers to chase Archie down and bring him back.; Betty inadvertently insinuates that Archie is just after Veronica for her money. Veronica decides that she needs to find a rich boyfriend so she's sure he's not after her money. Archie tries to date Betty, but Betty has decided she needs to find a rich boyfriend for financial security.; Betty is going with Archie on the school bicycle outing, but is afraid that Archie will end up riding with Veronica. At Jughead's suggestion, she borrows a tandem bicycle so she and Archie will have to stay together. But the plans all go awry and Betty ends up sharing the tandem bike with Mr. Weatherbee.; Jinx goes to a neighbor's house at dawn to tell them her birthday party was changed from noon to one o'clock.; Veronica wonders what Archie and Betty were talking about on the terrace.; Betty complains she keeps getting caught in a triangle with Archie and the television set.; Leroy tries to get a bribe from Archie so he won't annoy him and Veronica.; Mr. Lodge uses the height of Veronica's feet while she's lying on the floor talking on the telephone to note if she is getting taller.
