Professor Flutesnoot has invented a formula which shrinks a tree. Some of it spills on Jughead leading to a series of events where the professor mistakes Souphead for a smaller Jughead and Uncle Hammerhead for a larger version.; Everyone has spring fever (including the faculty) and no one wants to go to school. Jughead is given a bag of Mr. Stromboli's extra-powerful garlic on the way to school. When the bag of garlic accidentally falls into the school ventilation system, the odor causes the school to be closed.; Archie and Jughead add a drop of "exact from monkey gland" to Mr. Weatherbee's lunch. When an organ grinder's chimp escapes into the school, the pair think that Mr. Weatherbee has turned into a chimp.; Archie brags about being a good roller-skater, when in reality he can't skate. The boys call his bluff and take him to a rink and make him skate. His antics to keep from falling are mistaken for skating tricks.; Jughead has a day when everything goes wrong. When he pays too much attention to the girls, his supervisors equip him with blinders.; Archie and Reggie have been sent to the principal's office so many times that they have reserved seats there.; Shrimpy builds a large snowman. His friend builds a miniature snowman and calls it a work of art.; Things are changing in town, and Shrimpy's friend says "...the only thing that's permanent is change!"
