Jughead and Archie show Mr. Weatherbee how to put a vase of water upside down on one's head. In getting it off, Mr. Weatherbee gets the vase stuck on his head.; Jughead confuses everyone by not speaking because he has tonsillitis. They all buy him ice cream to soothe his throat after the tonsillectomy, but Jughead eats it all before the surgery.; Jughead won an essay contest with his essay about neatness and personal appearance. Mr. Weatherbee puts Miss Grundy in charge of making sure Jughead appears to receive the award looking neat and not like his usual appearance. Jughead manages to show up looking worse than usual, by accident.; Jughead is excited about eating at Veronica's because of the cook Gaston. When he finds out that Gaston is gone he knows that Veronica and Betty will cook, so he numbs his tongue before the meal. He didn't know that Gaston came back to cook one last meal when he heard Jughead was coming.; Archie and Reggie are competing to see who can score the most points in the football game, to get a date with Veronica. Jughead tries to help Archie by putting cement glue on the bench where Reggie will sit, but Coach sits in it. He tries to help Archie by putting cement glue into Reggie's helmet, but he puts it in Archie's helmet by accident. Archie wins the scoring contest but Veronica refuses to go with him due to the helmet removal taking his hair with it.; Jughead doesn't want to pay five dollars for a plane ride, so the pilot agrees that it will be free if they can stay silent throughout the flight. After numerous loops, the pilot congratulates them on being so quiet. Jughead admits he almost said something at the point where Reggie fell out of the plane.; Jughead agrees to take Miss Grundy's niece to the movies. Reggie and Archie kick each other when they see how pretty she is.
