Andrews to get dry and call a tow truck. Once in the room, Archie starts a fire and the two get out of their wet clothes and dress in blankets, putting their clothes near the fire to dry. Betty calls her father and mother to let them know she'll be late, but when they discover that she and Archie are in a motel room together, they become angry and race to aid their daughter. When they arrive at the motel, Archie explains what happened, but the Coopers don't believe him. To protect his daughter's honor, Mr. Cooper demands that Archie and Betty get married.; Betty is admiring the fall, while Archie admires the other girls around him. When Betty runs away hurt, Archie decides to give her a plant in order to make up-- except the plant is poison ivy.; Betty and Archie both get jobs working together at a local grocery store. Both are using the earned money for the Prom, but Archie's is for taking Veronica to the Prom, not Betty.; Betty and Archie have very different ideas about what marriage is like.; The kids talk about want they want to be when they grow up.
