While on a fishing tour, Conan and the Junior Detective League find a diver stranded on a small volcanic reef and dead of dehydration. But Conan quickly deduces that the woman was murdered.; Conan, Subaru and Det. Yokomizu begin to decipher clues that point to one of the victim's fellow divers being her murderer.; Conan implicates the murderer. Anita is even more certain that Subaru is not who he seems.; Richard becomes involved in a case of a blind woman trying to determine which of two suitors is an old acquaintance who once saved her life. Further complicating the case is the suspicion of Supt. McLaughlin that one of the suitors is a fugitive criminal from a cold case in which his face was permanently scarred.; Conan is certain that neither suitor is the one Richard's client is looking for. But which one is the fugitive?; Using Richard as his surrogate, Conan reveals both the fugitive and the long lost love interest of Richard's client.; The suspect Conan identified as the fugitive proves to be an imposter. When a noted television talk show host boasts that he can solve the case, with the statute of limitations running out, he later winds up murdered.; Conan and the Junior Detective League assist Det. Takagi in tracking connections between the four victims of the Whistling Man, as well as prod him to be more proactive in his relationship with Det. Sato.; Conan drops clues that lead Takagi to an arrest. But an innocent remark from Amy leads Conan to the real identity of The Whistling Man.; Using Conan's deductions, Takagi goes off in search of the killer of the talk show host, not realizing he's headed into a trap.; Jirokichi Sebastian receives a written threat by the Kaito Kid to steal Sebastian's safe, known as "The Iron Tanuki". But Conan and the police believe the note is fake and Kaito Kid is being impersonated.
