After the alien is taken to a hospital, Batman and Robin try to recapture the Kraal. After Batman and Robin capture the first two Kraal, the alien recovers and seems intent on joining the three together. Batman determines that when combined the Kraal becomes a powerless creature, and helps the alien complete his plan.; At tryouts for "Impossible but True," a man demonstrates a root he has contained in a jar. When exposed to carbon dioxide, the root starts growing and becomes indestructible. The only way to stop it is to cut off the carbon dioxide supply. Roy schedules the man for the following week, but a petty crook has other plans. He steals the root, and uses it to break into a bank vault. Police show up to stop the crime, but the containing bottle gets broken and the root runs wild. Roy notices that the root is near a thermometer manufacturer, and obtains a barrel of mercury. The root grabs the barrel, crushes it and covers itself with mercury, which cuts off its supply of carbon dioxide. Roy stops the root, but loses a feature for his show.; John faces Mr. Moth, the crook attracted to valuable things that glow in the dark. Moth's spree starts with a rooftop clock painted with $10,000 worth of radium. John stops Mr. Moth's blinding light by filling the air with coal dust. Next up on the Moth's agenda is a statue of Atlas coated with phosphorus to make it glow in the dark. When the Manhunter arrives, Mr. Moth escapes by endangering the crowd, drawing John's attention away from him. Finally Mr. Moth grabs a gold planetarium display with a glowing sun, but he walks into John's trap and ends up in a jail cell.
