Latham, a convict, escapes from the authorities and flees into a nearby swamp where he encounters a beautiful woman named Jenanne who takes care of him. Latham thinks he has it made until he finds out that Jenanne is really an alligator woman.; The dying Dr. Crane asks his assistant Paul to remove his brain after he dies to keep it alive. After Dr. Crane dies, Paul does what he asks, but the brain is damaged in the process and becomes evil. The brain then sends the cadaver of Dr. Crane, through mental telepathy, to commit murder.; Moran, a greedy sailor, goes to an island where he hears about a great treasure. When the natives refuse to give him the treasure (which is located inside the mouth of a huge stone skull on the side of a mountain peak), he murders them. When he enters the cave through the mouth of the skull to get at the treasure, it closes down on him crushing him giving him death instead of wealth.; When Edgar Rame tries to buy a hexed spinning wheel from an old woman, she refuses due to its evil. Rame kills her and steals the wheel. It turns out the wheel allows the spinner to remove their body thus becoming an intangible ghost that can go anywhere. Rame is joined by his wife Gerda and the two commit crimes. However, a fire starts in the room where they keep the wheel and it is destroyed, thus trapping Edgar and his wife in their ghost forms forever.
