Beetle accidentally drops the key to the Captain's safe in the back of a garbage track. He races to the dump, only to be detained by the police twice, once for speeding and later for looking like a vagrant after digging through the trash to find the key.; A Senator comes to inspect the camp after receiving complaints that the troops have been living in the woods for two months. Gen. Halftrack takes the Senator to the field camp, where they find the soldiers' ingenuity has given them the comforts of home.; Beetle returns to his home town for a furlough. He is chosen to judge a beauty contest, but gets some salt and pepper in his eyes and can't see.; Beetle puts his jeep through a torture test, then complains when it fails.; Beetle loses his helmet and has to go to the supply sergeant to retrieve it.; Beetle and Killer spend the day on the rides at an amusement park, then complain about how rough the ride is on the bus back to the base.
