After hiring on a freighter, Francis and Pete end up in Africa. Francis is sentenced to death by a sheik because he is "full of evil spirits." Pete helps Francis escape by painting stripes on him so that the mule supposedly looks like a zebra.; Francis thinks he's bidding on a horse blanket, but ends up with a buggy, instead.; Francis pretends to be men in a mule costume so he can enter a restaurant.; Pete convinces the manger of a theatrical agency to let Francis audition, but Francis has laryngitis and can't talk.
