While sledding in the mountains, Little Beaver and Po-Ko find a runaway horse. They backtrack and find the supply train to the logging camp has been stopped by an avalanche. After going to town to bring help for the train, Little Beaver and Po-Ko search for the horse's missing rider. When a storm comes up they take refuge in Old Hermit Pete's cabin, only to find that Pete is responsible for setting the avalanche that is blocking the train.; Little Beaver and Red Horse go to town to get supplies. On the way home their wagon is upset in the badlands. They get a ride from a mail wagon headed toward the reservation, but the mail (wagon and all) is hijacked by two bandits who aim to take it to their hideout, not knowing Little Beaver and Red Horse are sleeping in the back. However, on the way, the hijackers are held up by two other bandits who demand a share of the booty.; Red Ryder and Little Beaver are tracking a bank robber. Little Beaver finds a young white boy who has wandered away from his home. Little Beaver has to capture the bandit while keeping the little boy out of harm's way.; The Paiutes invite the Navajo Chief and warriors to a peace council. Little Beaver and Red Horse are left behind to guard the Navajo horses, but find the Paiutes have tricked the Chief and plan to steal the horses and village supplies.
