Porky and Petunia go to the "Bar-Soap Ranch," owned by Petunia's uncle Baked Ham. On the way they are held up by Sylvester, who has been hypnotized by a criminal named Hypnotic Harry. Sylvester snaps out of his trance and the Sheriff arrives to explain the situation. The villain, dressed in a long black gown like the Phantom Blot, hitches a ride to the Bar-Soap Ranch where he kidnaps Petunia's uncle and leaves a note saying he prefers to be called "The Phantom" instead of Hypnotic Harry. Further investigation shows that Petunia's uncle had just found a map to a lost gold mine and that map is missing, too. Sylvester finds the map, which had been planted by "The Phantom" in order to draw Porky, Petunia, and Sylvester away from the ranch so he could take care of them, permanently.; Porky gets a job delivering packages for Mister Muldooly. The job had previously been promised to Cicero, who gets revenge by ordering some bubble gum to be delivered personally to Mr. Yahooty, the tightrope walker at the circus.; Porky has car trouble while taking Petunia for a drive and Petunia has to fix the problem.; To keep Cicero and his friend from playing with the shower, Porky removes the shower nozzle.; Bugs installs a board sidewalk at Porky's house as a "burglar trap."
