Sylvester is dumped off a ship in Siesta City, where the cats are too fat and lazy to chase mice. Sylvester tries to catch some of the mice, but is foiled by Speedy.; The townspeople force Speedy to stop running because he is raising so much dust during a drought. Eventually they force him to leave the village. Two bandidos take advantage of his absence to lock the townspeople in the jail and loot the village of its valuables.; Speedy must travel 100 miles to city to get special Prillencio pepper to use in a meal the Mayor is hosting for billionaire J.P. Carnegos.; Speedy is showing off at the beach and has to be rescued from a shark by Tomas Turtle. Later Speedy repays the favor by saving the turtle family's eggs from an unusually high tide.; Speedy and his friends practice for a fight with Señor Cat.; Speedy and his friend snack on a watermelon.; Señor Cat tries to catch Speedy, but ends up with just one of the many hats Speedy is wearing.; Speedy is playing his madolin until the strings break. He snips a cat's whiskers to replace the strings but must run for his life from the angry cat.
