Garrett is sent to buy horses for the Pony Express. $5,000 in gold has been sent to the Thirty Mile Station to pay for the horses, but bandits steal the money and set fire to the station, leaving evidence that makes it seem that Indians were responsible.; Garrett is ambushed on his Pony Express ride across the desert, but the robbers just want his horse, not the mail.
