The Brownies decide they ned to move to a bigger place. They take up residence in Farmer Brown's mailbox. When Farmer Brown mails a letter, it comes unsealed and Wobble gets caught inside then the mail carrier picks it up. When the letter and Wobble arrive at the Tractor Co. office, Wobble meets up with a family of mice that help him get sealed up with the reply letter back to Farmer Brown. The Brownies decide the mailbox isn't a good place to live and end up moving into a discarded carburetor.; After being scolded by the Wizard for not working, the Brownies decide to take up careers. Spindly becomes a detective; Brainy a doctor; Wobble a cowboy. Others are a mechanic and an animal trainer. After some mishaps, the group decides they prefer loafing to working.; The Badkins kidnap Peanut, a "junior-sized Brownie" in order to have him wash their dishes. With the other Brownies' help, the Wizard fools the Badkins into thinking they are being attacked by a giant-size caterpillar and they flee.; Prof. Teeny comes to Brownieland with his medicine show, selling hair restorer. After Wobble is doused with the stuff, he wanders off and gets his head caught inside a chestnut burr. When Wobble goes back to the other Brownies, who are still at the Professor's wagon, they all think he has grown hair because of the potion.; A Brownie takes a nap on a flower, but the petals close up, forcing the Brownie emergency squad to come to the rescue.; The Brownies build a log-cabin birdhouse for a homeless bird.; A Brownie finds a broken pair of spectacles. He carries it home but the sun shining through the lens sets the seat of his pants smoldering.
