Miroku begins to suspect that Naraku's target all along has been Kagome and not Kohaku.; Miroku takes on the venomous demon wasps to allow Inuyasha to pursue Kohaku and Kagome. But Naraku appears and traps Inuyasha in an impenetrable barrier.; Kohaku attacks Kagome, then makes off with her Shikon Shards. Sango pursues him with the intent of destroying him to free him from Naraku's control.; Inuyasha prevents Sango from killing Kohaku, but Kagura intercedes and helps Kohaku escape.; Sesshomaru learns the secret of how Tetsusaiga controls Inuyasha's demon side. Inuyasha and Miroku encounter a gang of bandits led by a demon named Gatenmaru.; Inuyasha and Miroku are wrapped in a venomous cocoon by Gatenmaru that will slowly destroy them.; Seeing Kagome menaced by Gatenmaru, Inuyasha's demon side takes over and the two demons launch into heated battle.; After slaughtering Gatenmaru and his bandits, Inuyasha turns on Sesshomaru, who has arrived to see Inuyasha's demon side in action.; Horrified by what he did when his demon side took over, Inuyasha goes to Totosai seeking answers.; In order to master Tetsusaiga and his demon side, Inuyasha must slay the demon Ryukotsusei that his father could only bind to a cliff. But Naraku arrives ahead of Inuyasha and frees Ryukotsusei to make it more difficult.
