After Kikyo drains the poison from Miroku, he joins Inuyasha and the others in battle against a Yama'Arashi, its animated corpse terrorizing the countryside after escaping Naraku. He goes into battle with Kikyo's warning that continued use of his Wind Tunnel attack will kill him.; Miroku and Sango encounter a herd of Yama'Arashi, all similarly wounded and all spreading poison over the countryside.; Trapped in a rocky pass between two Yama'Arashi, with Sango wounded and unconscious, Miroku faces the choice of either breaking his promise to Sango and risking using the Wind Tunnel or allowing them both to perish.; Naraku takes Onigumo's heart back into himself, hoping to use its dark feelings to further corrupt the Shikon Jewel.; A strange mystical spider's web, visible only to Kikyo and Kagome, spreads out over the countryside. In saving a little girl from the web, Kikyo is ensnared by it and finds the scar from the wound Naraku gave her is spreading and threatening to engulf her body.; In attempting to free Kikyo from the corrupting spider silk, Inuyasha becomes enmeshed in it. In attempting to free Inuyasha, Kagome falls prey to it.; With Kagome corrupted and unable to purify Kikyo, her protection spell over Kohaku fades, allowing Byakuya to come after him. Kagome and the others head out on a quest for a talisman that can counter Naraku's corruption.; Sesshomaru intercedes and keeps Kohaku's shard from Byakuya. At the sacred mausoleum, Kagome encounters a guardian spirit with Kikyo's face.; The Spirit of Mount Azusa feeds Kagome visions of Inuyasha and Kikyo together in order to test whether she is worthy of the sacred bow.; Kagome faces a choice: Discard the bow and let Kikyo die or give the bow to Kikyo, knowing that she will leave Kagome to die.
