Kagome puts her own safety at risk to retrieve Inuyasha from Lord Flower Prince's influence; Rin's dead body is claimed by the Guardian of the Underworld. Sesshomaru and Kohaku pursue it, passing up his mother's offer of a pathway back to the living.; Sesshomaru retrieves Rin's body, but is unable to use Tenseiga to restore her life.; In order to spare her son the pain of Rin's loss, Sesshomaru's mother retrieves the girl's life essence from the underworld with her Meido Stone. Kagome and her companions encounter a village completely surrounded by flowers.; Inuyasha discovers the village is run by a mystical creature who heals the sorrows of a person's soul in exchange for feeding off of that person's life energies.; Betrayed by his sorrow over Kikyo's death, Inuyasha falls victim to Lord Flower Prince.; Naraku sends Kanna after Inuyasha, seeking to kill him before he can discover and exploit the single point of purity imbued into the Shikon Jewel by Kikyo. Kanna creates a mirror demon which absorbs and replicates any attack thrown at it.; The mirror demon attacks, seeking to permanently absorb Tetsusaiga into it. But any counter used by Kagome reflects in a real injury to Kanna; Tetsusaiga draws Inuyasha's demonic self to the surface to gain enough power to defeat the mirror demon. Naraku sees this and has Kanna make the demon use Dragon-scaled Tetsusaiga to try to sever Inuyasha's demonic aura and destroy him.; Kanna keeps absorbing every damaging blow Inuyasha delivers to the mirror demon, while the demon continues to damage Inuyasha.
