After staying in the twentieth century long enough to graduate high school, Kagome returns to live in the fifteenth century with Inuyasha.; Inuyasha manages to fight his way through the demonic guardians of the jewel to Kagome. This gives Kagome the confidence to make a wish on the jewel.; Everyone launches a full out assault on Naraku.; Naraku gives his soul over to the Shikon Jewel in order to prevent Kagome from purifying him. Outside, his massive demonic body begins to fall toward Kaede's village, threatening to engulf it.; Sesshomaru delivers a killing stroke to Naraku, unconcerned that his poisonous demonic body will obliterate Kaede's village.; Exposed by Sesshomaru, The Shikon Jewel is pierced by Kagome's arrow and purified. Naraku dies, but through the jewel is able to reach back from the grave and trap Kagome in a Meido warp.; Kagome disappears into the meido warp, along with the Bone Eater's Well in both the fifteenth and twentieth centuries. Inuyasha opens another meido warp in a desperate search for her.; Kagome finds herself back in twentieth century Tokyo, with her family and friends in high school. But she slowly realizes that it's all an illusion.; The Shikon Jewel offers Kagome a choice: Make a wish upon it or remain trapped alone in the meido forever.; Kagome realizes that if she makes the right wish, the Shikon Jewel will disappear forever. But the wrong wish will trap her in the jewel forever, as Midoriko was trapped.
