Akago uses Kagome's jealousy over Kikyo as a path to possess her so he can use her ability to sense Shikon Shards.; While Naraku keeps the others busy, Kagura slips away from Mount Hakurei with a mysterious package in tow.; Inuyasha manages to save Koga from being absorbed into Naraku. They all flee Mount Hakurei before it collapses into itself. Outside, Kikyo confronts Naraku.; Naraku delivers a killing strike to Kikyo and dumps her body into a pit of miasma. He is then confronted by Sesshomaru and uses his new found power to turn Sesshomaru's attack back upon him.; Inuyasha comes to the painful realization that Kikyo may be dead again.; Hearing that Kikyo may still be alive in a remote village sends Inuyasha off to search for her. Afterward, Kagome and the others are lured into a trap set up by Akago and Kagura.; Akago tries to implant a tainted Shikon Shard in Kagome to make her his mind-controlled slave.; Miroku figures out that Akago is an aspect of Naraku's demon body used to house Onigumo's human heart, in order for Naraku to become a full demon.; Naraku consults a seer demon to find the single shard that will complete the Shikon Jewel.; The group encounters a village comprised solely of women abandoned by husbands and lovers, and an evil aura which haunts the village.
