A valuable idol is donated to the museum by a shady "philanthropist," who sends his son to steal it back, but it's Archie who the police arrest.; Archie and the girls go with Mr. Lodge to check out a rustic cabin and land he bought. The Indian caretaker (who is really from the Bronx) tells them the legend of a local creature called Wide End.; Archie is released due to lack of evidence, but an accidental mix-up by Veronica foils the Sleezie family's plot to profit from the stolen idol.; The kids encounter the creature called Wide End, who carries off Betty, so Archie has to come up with a plan to get her back.; Jinx tries to take advantage of the diet craze.
