After escaping an attack by dive-bombers, Rock and Easy Company find a shell-shocked Major, who is the last man left in his company. Easy assumes the identity of the Major's company and allows him to lead them to their objective; A pilot wrecks two planes while attempting landings on an aircraft carrier. On his next mission his plane is downed on an island after he shoots down a kamikaze plane. The Japanese pilot of the downed plane is also on the island and forces the American to use his plane as a kamikaze on his own ship.
