However, he learns it was all part of Mona’s scheme to ruin their romance. Kip and Deb get back together and Mona is left out in the cold.; Polly is engaged to Ashby but he nearly breaks up with her over her habit of flirting with other men, including Dewey. She promises to change, and they decide to get married before he enters the military. However, Dewey calls Polly a “teaser” and kisses her just as Ashby comes in. Ashby leaves. Polly starts attending USO dances near Ashby’s camp and convinces the other soldiers to make Ashby listen to her explanation. They are reunited.; High school student Beth dates new teacher Larry over the objections of her father, the school principal. Larry is fired when his “unsavory” past is exposed. Beth becomes engaged to Johnny, but Larry returns and demands five hundred dollars from Beth, threatening her with photos of them kissing.
