Under orders from the Doc to relax, Sack incurs the Sarge's ire and they engage in ongoing brutality toward each other.; Using hip lingo, Tweeter explains to Sack at length how music can save the world. In the interim, Sad Sack falls asleep.; Sack nears a breakdown being in the tank all day, so he is issued a 7 day pass. While in town relaxing, he observes a car crash. When the policeman arrives, Sack is able to clarify the story, but the motorists dispute him and claim he was the cause of the accident. As Sack is being arrested, a lady comes to his rescue and says he told the truth. Now Sack must appear as a witness in traffic court, but in his eagerness to exact revenge on the lying motorists, he yells at the judge and receives 7 days in jail. Meantime, the motorists resolve their differences as they pass the imprisoned Sad Sack.; When fighting among the men becomes epidemic, the General invites a professor who professes peace to give a talk in the auditorium. The General is humiliated as the professor is arrested for wife beating at the introduction of the lecture.; When Gertie catches cold and there is no thermometer to take her temperature, Sadie dismounts an outdoor thermometer from the barracks and forces it into Gertie's mouth.; An officer orders two soldiers to take a green rug outside to give it some sun, while Sack received orders from the Sarge to pick a job to do; he cuts the rug thinking it is the lawn.; Under orders from Sarge to stay on his feet, the Sack falls asleep while keeping his feet on the ground.; The Sack dreams he is in peril on the edge of a cliff and realizes it is true upon waking.
