The murder of a lighthouse keeper leads the Sub-Mariner into joining the USMC at Parris Island to uncover the purpetrator.; When writer Caleb Crane gets a rejection notice from a publisher, lambasting him for not having sufficient knowledge about his topic of crime, Crane decides to obtain that knowledge by committing crimes, then writing about them.; The shooting down of a U.S. blimp, still loaded with its instruments, becomes the target of the Japanese, so Sub-Mariner decides to hide them, then uncover the reason why this happened: a fiendish Japanese doctor is turning U.S. soldiers into zombies.; Two separate stories: in the first, the boys are looking forward to the day because it's Saturday and there is no school. But Mom has other ideas as to what the boys will be doing most of the day. In the 2nd, the boys borrow a dollar from Dad to buy defense stamps, with unusual effects.; Tubby and Tack, having the day off from school, get up early to round up the fellas for some fun...but they find all of them still in bed!
