After he left them, the Avengers feel responsible for the damages that the Hulk may cause. They start a search for him and find him. When they start to battle, the Sub-Mariner joins the Hulk.; Namor attacks a group of eskimos and throws their idol into the sea. When the ice melts, the figure trapped within turns out to be Captain America, in suspended animation since the end of World War II. The Avengers rescue Cap and return to New York. An alien figure turns our heroes to stone. When Cap and Rick Jones track him down, the alien agrees to restore the Avengers if they agree to help him recover his broken space ship in return. When doing so, the Avengers are attacked by Namor and his people. The restored spaceship ultimately drives off Namor and his men.; The Avengers take on their 'hottest' foes yet to save the world.; Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, and Thor join forces to defeat Loki.; The Space Phantom comes to Earth to defeat the Avengers. If he can, then nothing can stop his race from invading Earth.; Kang appears and demands to be made ruler of the Earth. The Avengers attempt to stop him, but it comes down to Wasp and the Teen Brigade to slow Kang long enough for the rest of the Avengers to free themselves and put an end to Kang's threat.; Kang creates a robotic Spider-Man and sends him back in time to battle the Avengers.; In order to save the Wasp's life, the Avengers seek out the help of Dr. Svenson, only to find he's been replaced by an alien from the planet Kallu.; Death of Baron Zemo.; Avengers line-up changes. Captain America becomes leader to Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye and Quicksilver.; The Reds (evil commies) led by the monstrous Commissar are enslaving the peaceful land of Sin-Cong. The Avengers travel to that land to aid the people. Commissar defeats them all except the Scarlet Witch who discovers and destroys the Commissar's control panel, ending him.; Introduction of the Swordsman. His origin and Hawkeye's are both told.; Our heroes battle Mandarin and Swordsman.; Enchantress uses the machine that Zemo used to create Wonder Man to turn one of Zemo's minions into Power Man. The two use tricks - and the Avengers' own internal discord - to make the Avengers appear dysfunctional. The City Council orders them to disband!; Forced to disband, the Avengers Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch cannot find work until the Ringmaster hires them. Unable to control them, he tells the police that they tried to rob his Circus. Suddenly, the three are on the run. Working on his own, Cap is able to pin the whole scheme on Enchantress and Power Man. Enchantress bails back to Asgard. Power Man, deprived of his lady love, surrenders. The City Council withdraws its order: the Avengers may assemble again. But Cap has had enough of Hawkeye and refuses to re-join.; Kang takes note that Steve Rogers is no longer an Avenger and easily defeats and captures the remaining three members. Cap comes to the rescue but is beaten too. Kang seems invincible!; The winsome Wasp flies to New York to warn that the savage Sub-Mariner is bent on its destruction. Enroute, she is trapped by Attuma, Namor's arch-foe, who is himself planning the destruction of the surface-dwellers. Jan notifies the Avengers who arrive - sans Hawkeye - and are roundly beaten.; Attuma has captured three Avengers and Hawkeye must rescue them, after he defeats the Beetle, who has broken into Avengers Mansion.; Giant-Man returns to the line-up, but with a new name, Goliath, and a more limited size-changing power.
