Lonnie and Jeanne alert all of a cougar they found who has been following the wagon train killing livestock, Ranger removes Silver's saddle, who tracks and fights it, one of the pioneers fells it with a rifle. Ranger tells kids how wild Silver once tracked a man, Apache horse hunter Keenay. Keenay rebuilds his teepee lodge, spies colts Scamper and Silver, captures Scamper, uses him to lure Silver, who defeats the traps and frees Scamper, tracks Keenay, destroys the new lodge.
